Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose a team building food tour for my company?

Team building food tours are a step above throwing a company dinner or a company happy hour, but without the icky forced feeling that accompanies so many other team building activities.

Our tours are a delicious and interactive way to get out of the office and engage your team. What could be more unifying than a shared love of food? Your team will form lasting bonds as they walk, learn, and—most importantly—eat their way around your city. Your corporate team building food tour will strengthen your employees’ ability to work together for creative problem solving and strategic thinking.

Aren’t food tours for tourists? Many of us were born and raised here.

Locals are often surprised by how much they learn about their city on our tours. One of the great things about a team building food tour is that it puts everyone in your office on the same level. Whether they were born down the block or just moved to the city, everyone will have a great time eating delicious food and learning something new. Unlike other team building activities, no one will feel left out because they’re terrible at bowling or too clumsy for an obstacle course.

How much food do we eat?

Your tour will include enough tastings for a full lunch or dinner. We’re not in the business of letting people leave hungry!

Is there alcohol on the tours?

Some of our tours explore the best craft breweries, cocktail bars, and other boozy delights your city has to offer. Most other tours that don’t include alcohol in their description on our website can have an alcohol tasting added to the itinerary. Please contact us to learn more.

Our boss is a vegetarian who’s allergic to peanuts. Can she still come?

Absolutely! There are vegetarian options on almost all of our tours. We are also able to accommodate common allergies (nuts, shellfish, lactose, etc.) with advanced notice at the time of booking. Food for our tours is prepared in advance and we cannot accommodate last minute restrictions, so please be upfront.

Please note that some of our tours stop at traditional, family type places where there isn’t always a “next best” option to meet your dietary needs. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Our receptionist is vegan, kosher, and gluten free. What about him?

We cannot guarantee that the food on our tours is vegan, kosher, or gluten free. If this is a problem for your team, please contact us and we’ll see if there’s anything we can do.

Can you add a scavenger hunt/trivia competition/Slip ‘N Slide tournament to bring my team even closer together?

Totally! That would be super fun! Except for the Slip ‘N Slide tournament. It’s hard to eat and use a Slip ‘N Slide at the same time...

This might sound strange, but we were wondering if you could add a _______________ to the tour?

Please reach out to us about what would help bring your team closer together and we’ll do our best to make it happen. :-)

What kind of clothes should we wear?

We do a fair amount of walking on our tours. Your team should dress casually and wear comfortable shoes.

What if there’s bad weather?

Tours are given rain or shine. Please dress accordingly.

Planning Logistics

Do we have to tip the tour guide?

Your final quote will include a gratuity surcharge for your tour guide(s). No need to worry!

What’s the maximum number of people you can do? Will our group be split up?

The maximum number of people is different for every tour. Please contact us to learn more.

We will split up large groups among multiple guides. Manageable group sizes ensure that everyone has the best possible experience. Every group will get the same tastings and the same information, but groups will be staggered or will follow different routes to avoid overcrowding.
